Internship Coverage:
Both internships are fully funded and available to international students. All expenses will be defrayed. The following topics will be discussed.
- Round-trip Airfare Travel expenses will be covered.
- Fares for local transportation between Japan’s airport and NIG.
- Lodging/accommodation is provided at no cost in the Institute’s Guesthouse.
- During the program, you will need to purchase travel insurance.
- Meal allowance (1,500 JPY/day, subject to change) will also be supplied.
Eligibility for Internship:
For NIG Internship
- The NIG Internship is an international internship open to students of any nationality.
Undergraduates and postgraduates are both eligible. - Applicants in the third year of a four-year bachelor’s degree, the second year of a three-year bachelor’s program, the fourth year of a five-year program, the first year of a two-year master’s program, or the fifth year of a six-year program are eligible.
For UTokyo Internship
- Participants must be enrolled in an Undergraduate Program at an abroad College or
- University for the duration of the UTSIP program and must not have received their BA/BS degree.
- Participants who are thinking about pursuing graduate studies at The University of
- Tokyo’s Graduate School of Frontier Sciences or other graduate schools in Japan.
- Participants must attend all UTSIP-planned activities, including classes, laboratory work, and special events.
