Eligibility Criteria:

- Applicants must be citizens of Commonwealth countries (excluding South Africa).
- All students must plan to start their studies at the University of Pretoria.
- Candidates must have applied for UP doctoral admission for the 2025 academic year.
- Each applicant has secured a potential supervisor at UP.
- An applicant must have completed a postgraduate or Master’s degree within the past two years
- Applicants whose age is more than 40 years cannot be eligible for this Scholarship.
Note: Previously studied at the University of Pretoria, students of Masters and PhD are not eligible if they are currently studying at this university they can apply for UP Scholarship 2026.
Selection Criteria:
Students will select based on these criteria:

- Evidence of research accomplishments at the Master’s level
- Potential ability for advanced research
- Leadership qualities
- Any prizes or honors received
Required Documents:
- Copy of passport
- CV Or Resume Short(maximum 3 pages)
- Certificate of study level from current employer (if applicable)
- Motivation letter from the UP supervisor
- A one-page outline of the intended research
- Academic transcripts of all degrees
- Two reference letters from different supervisors
